dh osteopathy - Pain Management
Pain management in Congleton and Stoke on Trent
The majority of people attending for osteopathic treatment at this practice do so for pain relief. Research indicates that exploration of a person's thoughts, beliefs and behaviours relating to their problem, along with an understanding of the psychosocial context of their problem, can be helpful in managing pain.
Additionally it has been found that meditation, exercise, education about effective stress management and the need for good quality sleep are also components of a pain management strategy.
It follows that not all of the osteopathic consultation will be about hands on treatment. It may well involve discussion of some of the above issues and a formulation of a plan of action for you to be actively involved in your recovery.
